FAQ Proposals
1. What is a proposal shoot?
A proposal shoot is when a professional photographer secretly captures the moment one partner proposes to the other. It’s followed by a brief portrait session to celebrate the newly engaged couple.
2. How does it work if it’s a surprise?
We’ll plan everything in advance—location, timing, cues, and positioning—so I’m discreet and ready to capture the big moment without giving it away.
3. Can you help me plan the proposal?
Yes! I’ll help with ideas, scouting the perfect location, timing for the best light, and tips to keep it a surprise.
4. Will you be hidden during the proposal?
Yes, I’ll stay at a distance and remain inconspicuous. Once you propose, I’ll reveal myself and guide you through a short engagement session.
5. How long does a proposal shoot take?
The full experience typically takes about 30–60 minutes:
-
10–15 mins for the proposal itself
-
20–45 mins for a mini engagement session afterward
6. Where should I propose?
It can be anywhere meaningful—parks, scenic overlooks, beaches, restaurants, or even at home. I can help you choose based on lighting, privacy, and photo potential.
7. What if the timing gets off schedule?
We’ll have a flexible plan and backup communication method (text, live location, etc.) to stay coordinated in real time.
8. Can you take video too?
"I specialize in photography only, so I don’t offer video—but I’d be happy to recommend some amazing videographers if you’re looking for one!"
9. What should I wear for the proposal?
Dress in something you feel confident and comfortable in. Keep in mind that you’ll likely take engagement photos afterward, so aim for coordinated, photo-friendly attire.
10. When will I receive the photos?
Sneak peeks are typically available within 24–48 hours, and the full gallery is delivered within 1–2 weeks, depending on the package.
11. Can I include friends or family in the shoot?
Yes! Many people arrange for loved ones to join right after the proposal for a group photo or celebration. Just let me know in advance.
12. What if it rains or the weather changes?
We’ll have a backup plan or indoor location, or reschedule if needed. I’ll monitor the forecast closely with you.
